The Hamilton Cricket Club was formed in May, 1847. By all accounts, HCC is the oldest amateur sports club in Hamilton. HCC joined the Hamilton and District Cricket league in 1921. Many members from the club have been honoured by being chosen to represent various teams at both league and provincial levels. At present, the club is home to two competitive league teams, namely Hamilton A and the Hamilton B. Hamilton B aims to give oppurtunity to young and upcoming players to develop their skills and get ready to represent the senior team which is Hamilton A. It also gives opportunity to senior members who wish to develop their skills.
Our members come from all sorts of backgrounds making HCC one of the most diverse and multicultural sports clubs in Hamilton. Home games are played at Churchill Park in the West end of the city. All league games are played over the course of one day and are 50 overs per side. The games are played on weekends and the team practices regularly on Tuesday evenings. The junior cricketers practice on Wednesday evenings. The Hamilton Cricket Club welcomes everyone to the club regardless of their skill level, experience or even their familiarity with Cricket. |
